Strain Review: Animal Face

I always check leafly before I smoke even if I have experience with that strain already and I'll tell you why. Half the reason I want to do a locally based version of leafly is because I don't believe it should be a national database. First off, it's not legal federally and secondly, depending on the grower, the climate, the chosen method of grow (i.e. indoor vs outdoor)... all of this can drastically change the properties of the strain that falls in your hand at the local dispensary. Even if it is by a different grower, I would venture to say that my reviews are better if only for the fact that I'm writing about one temperate location. That being said, Leafly claims that this is a relatively rare sativa dominant hybrid although I don't pretend to know the specifics of that!

Oftentimes I like to blog about the strain while I'm smoking it. At times that is wildly successful and others is a rambling mess that I have to edit later, ha! So let's find out which it is today...

Initially, the smell was so black peppery. I hate pepper smell so I wasn't too keen on that, but it also had almost a lemony scent for a bit as well. After the first 6-8 puffs, I noticed myself kick into drive. Doing things around the house, writing, whatever. Not long after I started yawning. Just right there it is pretty clear that this could be a hybrid (it is a sativa dominant). Next, my body seems to be getting numb. Odd? Maybe. Nice? Yes! This means that for your medical users, this can be used after a day at the office right as dinner is about to be done. Then sink into your couch and just feel some GD inner peace!

I think this one is a little tricky because there are a few different combinations of effects that are odd together. First being the medium amount of eye pressure. It can seriously make you feel like you need to go to sleep. On the other hand, the sativa in your bones kind of feeling (jittery, tapping, wiggling toes quickly or other similar quirk) like you can run around and get some serious stuff done. My advice? Roll with this one. See what your experience turns out to be and just go with it.

It's cannabis after all! Medical properties or recreational highs it does not matter! Weed is supposed to be enjoyable so release all preconceptions, close your eyes, and just sink into the experience your body wants you to have. Stay high friends!
